Nicole Renaud

Nicole Renaud is a singer, accordionist and songwriter. After studying the classical guitar as a child, Nicole Renaud studied at the Petit Conservatoire de la chanson de Mireille in Paris and with Canadian opera singer Constance Lambert in New York.

She performs regularly on stage with a repertoire at the crossroads of song, opera and performance. She is accompanied by a transparent accordion designed for her by the English artist Paul Etienne Lincoln.

Her latest multimedia show Couleurs, a song cycle (a love story seen through colours) was presented at the Opéra de Limoges (France), the Bienniale de la chanson française in Brussels (Belgium), the poetry festival of Gotland (Sweden), and many others.

She has regularly sung on Arte and on France Culture for Frédéric Mitterrand's program “Ça me dit l'après midi”.

As a composer of film music, she regularly collaborates with animation filmmaker Bill Plympton. With the music she created for Bill’s movie Cheatin’ Nicole was nominated for the Annie Awards.

She further sang in advertisements for Volkswagen, Chrysler (directed by Adrien Brody).
